Bethany Lutheran Home

Caring for the Body and the Spirit in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Bethany Chaplain

At Bethany, caring for the spirit as well as the body is one of our main focuses.  While our organization was founded by Lutheran churches, we are a non-denominational facility.  Reverend Dennis Tranberg has been in the ministry since 1974, and has been serving Bethany Lutheran Home and Bethany Meadows since 2001.  Bethany is one of the only senior living organizations in the area to employ a full-time chaplain.

Bethany Lutheran Home begins each day with a morning prayer led by Chaplain Dennis.  Chaplain Dennis also provides numerous other spiritual offerings for the Bethany residents, which include:

  • Two weekly Bible studies
  • Two weekly prayer groups
  • Sunday and Wednesday worship services
  • A book reading group
  • A weekly S.A.I.N.T.S. club
  • Private visits with residents
  • Sharing prayers and offering Holy Communion

Chaplain Dennis respects each resident's personal religious traditions and spiritual faith and he is always available for all Bethany residents and their families.
